Expanding Service, Strengthening Community: BFW/Marcum Opens New Office in Paragould, Arkansas

BFW/Marcum has opened its newest office in Paragould, Arkansas, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to supporting infrastructure and transportation development across the region. With deep experience in neighboring states and a proven track record in municipal and DOT projects, the Paragould location is a natural next step.

Project Manager Eric Krapf, PE, who is leading the effort, says the move is a strategic one.

“We’ve worked with communities and DOTs in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee,” Krapf said. “That experience transfers directly to Northeast Arkansas. We’re ready to provide immediate support to cities, counties, and ARDOT on transportation improvement projects.”

Why Paragould Matters

Arkansas faces real infrastructure challenges. Fifty-eight percent of roads in the state are rated in fair or poor condition (1) (2). Krapf says this new office is designed to precisely address these needs in the region.

Focused on Transportation and Community Impact

The new office will be focusing on transportation engineering, with services including:

  • Bridge replacements
  • Intersection improvements
  • ADA-compliant bike, pedestrian, and trail projects
  • New roadway expansions

Krapf noted that while these will be the core offerings, the Paragould team will also support planning, traffic analysis, permitting, geotechnical studies, archaeology, and environmental clearances.

What sets BFW/Marcum apart, he said, is their full-service project lifecycle approach.

“We integrate our construction staff into the design phase to anticipate field challenges before they arise. That helps avoid costly delays and keeps projects on track,” he said. “Contract administration, inspection, and materials testing—those are services we provide in-house. That makes a difference.”

A Familiar Region, A Trusted Partner

For many on the team, Northeast Arkansas already feels like home. BFW/Marcum engineers have collaborated with ARDOT and formerly AHTD on cross-border projects in the Missouri Bootheel, including major corridor work on US67, US412, and I-55.

“This is a region we know well,” Krapf said. “And it’s exciting to help deliver projects that support people and communities we’ve already built relationships with.”

Looking Ahead

The team is particularly enthusiastic about opportunities tied to the expansion of the US67 corridor, which will eventually become I-57. BFW/Marcum is already supporting this work in Missouri and hopes to collaborate with Arkansas communities ready to plan for growth along the route.

“There’s real economic potential here,” Krapf said. “More traffic means more visibility, more development, and more opportunity.”

A Collaborative, Client-Focused Approach

As the office gets established, Krapf wants clients to know they’re getting more than local support—they’re gaining access to the expertise and resources of an entire firm.

“We’re a client-focused family of professionals,” he said. “We collaborate across all 12 offices to bring the right team and the right solutions to every project. Our goal is to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.”
