South Marshall Middle School

Benton, Kentucky – Marshall County

The new South Marshall Middle School is located on US-641S and replaces the existing South Marshall Middle School a few miles south. The new, $17,500,000 facility can accommodate approximately 650 students and is nearly 100,000 square feet. Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) and Marcum Engineering were entrusted with the project and provided engineering and design services including:

  • Mechanical
  • Structural
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Surveying
  • Geotechnical
  • Site/Civil
  • Transportation

The new school was constructed in two phases: early site package and building package. The early site package included mass grading of the site, which was approximately 130,000 cubic yards of excavation and preparing the building pad; while the building package included construction of the building and all supplemental site improvements. In addition, new turning lanes on US-641S were constructed to support the increase in traffic with the new school. BFW and Marcum are proud to have designed and engineered the new South Marshall Middle School which will allow the faculty to better educate the students and allow better access to the facilities to the community and students.
