Paducah School of Art & Design

Paducah, Kentucky – McCracken County

The Paducah School of Art & Design is a 33,800 square foot building located in the Lower Town Art District of Paducah, Kentucky, and consists of a rehabilitation and restoration of a pre-twentieth century building. The building required extensive updates and renovation which Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) and Marcum Engineering provided the structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and design services for which included:

  • Mechanical:
    • Sprinkler system
    • Plumbing system
    • Kitchen systems
    • DDC control system monitoring energy management and maintenance
    • VAV HVAC system with high efficiency boilers sand split system condensing unit
  • Electrical:
    • Utility transformer installation
    • Service/switchgear installation
    • Lighting including high efficient fluorescent and several types of LED lighting
    • Occupancy controls for lighting
  • Special Systems:
    • Addressable fire alarm
    • CCTRV
    • VOIP
    • Wireless access
    • Messaging wall monitors
    • Public address
    • Door access controls

In addition, the lighting controls were designed and installed in compliance with the International Energy Conservation Code. BFW and Marcum are proud to have completed the Paducah School of Art & Design which will now be able continue serving the community and students for years to come.
