North West Street Pedestrian Walkway – Sikeston, MO

BFW provided a full suite of services for this Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant-funded pedestrian improvement project, including:

  • Surveying

  • Engineering design

  • Environmental coordination

  • Construction inspection and testing

  • Contract administration

Project Improvements Included:

  • ADA-compliant sidewalks

  • Retaining walls

  • Paved approach entrances

  • Drainage system modifications

  • Pedestrian panels at a railroad crossing

Community-Focused Features:

  • Contract provisions aligned with the City’s preference to adjust sidewalk alignment to minimize impact on adjacent properties

  • Special effort made to preserve existing trees, following the significant loss of streetscape trees during the 2024 Sikeston Tornado

BFW is proud to support the City of Sikeston in creating accessible and thoughtful pedestrian infrastructure that serves both safety and community preservation goals.  Project cost: $300,000.
