The Murray State University Lovett Auditorium was originally built without modern HVAC systems; this 23,900-square-foot facility required a highly detailed design approach to preserve its original appearance. For this historic renovation project, Marcum Engineering provided design services for:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Plumbing
Due to the facility’s scale, the project was phased, with extensive planning for a modern underfloor displacement HVAC system. The design carefully navigated the existing underfloor wood and steel structure, seating layouts, and limited crawlspace, successfully blending the auditorium’s traditional aesthetics with an innovative, compact, and modernized HVAC system for improved comfort and a silent system ideal for auditorium use.
