Marcum Engineering was entrusted with renovating the mechanical and electrical infrastructure at the Murray State University Curris Center. An entirely new E-sports gaming area, to compete with other universities, was created on the lower level. The renovations included:
- Main Welcome Center and Lobby:
- LED lighting upgrades
- Restrooms on All Floors:
- New lighting
- New plumbing fixtures
- Brought up to ADA compliance
- New E-sports Gaming Area on the Lower Level:
- Power improvements
- Lighting updates
- Data updates
- HVAC improvements
To avoid disruption for the students, building shutdowns needed to be as limited as possible during the renovations. The challenge to keep code minimum plumbing fixtures in service required detailed coordination and phasing for restrooms on each floor to keep the building occupied throughout the school year. Marcum Engineering is proud to have been a part of the renovations at the Murray State University Curris Center which enhance the university’s appeal and functionality, providing a modern, comfortable environment that supports student success and competitiveness.
