Marshall County Tech Center Renovation & Expansion

BFW/Marcum partnered on a transformative renovation and expansion of the Marshall County Tech Center, modernizing the existing facility while creating space to support growing programs and student needs. The project focused on bringing the building up to current life safety, ADA, and KDE standards, while also replacing aging systems and enhancing functionality across the campus.

Project Highlights:

  • Major renovation of existing Career & Tech Center facilities
  • Approximately 13,000 SF of new educational space to support expanded curriculum offerings
  • Approximately 1,700 SF of new shop/classroom additions
  • Upgrades to existing shop areas, including overhead doors, plumbing fixtures, HVLS fans, and electrical systems
  • Installation of a comprehensive fire suppression system
  • ADA-compliant egress and ingress improvements
  • Renovation of administrative areas
  • Replacement of outdated systems and materials that had exceeded their useful life

BFW/Marcum provided a full range of services to support the project from the ground up, including fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical power and lighting design, along with special systems such as data, fire alarm, and CCTV. The team also delivered structural and civil design, geotechnical services, site survey and utilities, and special inspections. The result is a safe, modern, and adaptable facility that better serves students today while supporting the workforce needs of tomorrow.
