Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) provided professional engineering and environmental permitting services to the City of Cape Girardeau so that ADA compliant sidewalks could be constructed from Kingsway to Marie Louise. This project included:
- Crosswalks
- Upgrade to traffic signals
- Drainage system improvements
- Construction of a dedicated right-turn lane
- Improvement and enlargement of the existing right-turn lane
- Upgrade to the continuous highway lighting system
BFW improved the Kingshighway Intersection to meet current MoDOT standards for islands at signalized intersections. BFW is proud to have aided with creating more accessible spaces with updated signals containing audible/tactile pedestrian push button detection systems with a signal cabinet upgrade module, expanded and added turn lanes reduce congestion, and new cross walks to increase accessible routes for pedestrians.
