Herrin Elementary School Classroom Addition

Herrin, IL

​Working alongside Steve Sims, the lead architect at Achitechniques Limited, Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) finalized the Herin Elementary School addition project in 2023. BFW created the full structural design for the 5,600 square foot classroom addition which included:

• Load-bearing cold-formed metal stud walls along all exterior walls
• Steel beams and columns lining the interior corridor
• Top chord-bearing cold-formed metal trusses

These design choices will ensure the addition’s durability for years to come. BFW is proud to have designed the classroom addition to Herrin Elementary School which will allow more room for students and resources for learning.
