Henderson Technology Center

Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing, Inc. and Marcum Engineering, LLC provided the complete MEP and civil/site design services for this new 65,000 square foot technology center on the campus on Henderson Community College in Henderson, Kentucky. HVAC work included the installation of a water source heat pump system with one unit dedicated to each classroom space. HVAC design also included the Alerton/web-based control system.
The electrical design for this project included the installation of a transformer, switchgear, and the installation of all lighting throughout the center. A variety of lighting was used including fluorescent indirect lighting and incandescent colored accent lighting. Special attention was given to the low voltage systems on this project. The special systems design included the clock system, PA system, coax communication, and access control system. A new fire alarm system was installed, and a wet pipe sprinkler system was also designed to meet compliance with the Kentucky Building Code.
