Martens Center

Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) took on the Martens Center project in NE Champaign, Illinois. A partnership between the Champaign Park District and the Don Moyer Boy and Girls Club, the Martens Center is a state-of-the-art $10.6M facility which contains numerous facilities such as:

• Fitness center
• Full size gymnasium with running track
• Two basketball courts
• Two fitness rooms
• Four multi-purpose rooms
• Restrooms
• Elevator
• Wellness suite
• Laundry room
• Game room
• Art room
• Recording studio
• Innovation center
• After school program area
• Instructional residential grade kitchen

The Center prioritizes STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education through an Innovation Center that collaborates with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This facility also serves as a designated “safe place” for inclement weather for the nearby community. BFW is proud to have contributed to the increase in resources, facilities, and shelter areas in the NE Champaign area.
