Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst

BFW Engineering & Testing, Inc. is currently seeking a Geographic Information Analyst for any of our office locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, Planning, Engineering, or Related Field
- 5+ years’ progressive experience with GIS environment, specifically ESRI ArcGIS online platform
- Programming knowledge in Python and ArcObjects or similar platforms
- ESRI Certification is a plus
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain work related to geotechnical, environmental, and engineering in the utility industry, including development, construction, and asset management.
- Create, maintain, and perform GIS workflows including extracting, transforming, and loading data
- Implement a quality assurance plan for GIS tasks, data, and systems
- Create maps, databases, and other deliverables

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying or a related science
- Licensed as a Surveyor Intern (SI)
- Compensation will be based on skill level and experience
Desired Skills:
- Ability to accurately complete detailed work
- Knowledge of Autodesk and/or Bentley software is preferable but not required
- Strong spoken and written communication skills

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 3 -5 years of experience in Preliminary Engineering Phase I & II (planning and design) for Roadway Projects
- Current Engineer In Training or the ability to obtain the same within 6 months
- Familiarity with OpenRoads CADD design platforms
- Knowledge of TDOT and KYTC design standards and methods preferred.
- Experience with highway drainage design procedures preferred but not required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Planning and design of urban and rural roadways, site developments, and stormwater management/drainage design
- Investigate field conditions as well as read and comprehend as-built drawings, construction specifications, client base standards, and technical information to develop drawings

- 8+ years’ experience
- Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois
- Knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Estimating/Project Management type software
